Privacy
Hop Dungeon needs no account and collects no personal information. To find out which parts are too hard or badly explained, the game sends some anonymous gameplay data while you play on the website.
What we collect
- Opening the game: device type (desktop / tablet / phone), screen size bucket (e.g. "under 480px"), orientation, and which page you came from.
- Starting a run: adventure or daily, and which hero you picked.
- Tutorial: which step you reached.
- Each floor: turns taken, stars earned, retries, damage taken, and when you retried a floor.
- Items: which ones you picked up and used.
- End of a run: cleared or defeated, floor reached, score, time, total retries.
- How you shared (system share / copy image / save image / copy link), whether you opened the leaderboard or feedback box, and whether a leaderboard submission succeeded.
That data uses a random ID generated in your browser to tell players apart. It has nothing to do with who you are, and clearing your browser data gives you a new one.
What we do not collect
We do not record IP addresses, browser identifiers (User-Agent), device model, location, name or account, and there is no third-party analytics or advertising code. Page views on the website (which page, roughly which site you came from, screen size bucket) use the same anonymous ID and only count visits. Your progress (unlocked heroes, achievements, stars) stays in your own browser.
What it is used for
It is only used for aggregate statistics โ how many people visit, how many open the game, how many finish a run, how far the tutorial gets, how many players clear each floor, which items get used โ and to tune difficulty and improve the game. The data lives in a Cloudflare D1 database and is never sold or shared.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard needs no account. Your run is only uploaded if you type a nickname on the results screen and press Submit: nickname, score, floor reached, stars, time, retries, hero, and how many turns and stars each floor took (used to verify scores later).Your nickname and result are shown publicly on the leaderboard, so please do not use your real name, phone number or anything else that identifies you. The leaderboard uses the same anonymous ID to tell players apart, and that ID is never shown. Your nickname is stored only in your browser and filled in next time.
Feedback
The in-game feedback box sends your text to the developer. Contact details are optional and only used to reply; leave them blank if you prefer. Please do not put ID numbers, passwords or similar sensitive information in feedback.
Offline file version
If you save the game page and open it from disk, nothing is sent โ including feedback, which has to be submitted on the website.
